Shoes history 

History of shoe fashion through 1900 - 1960s

Twenties century has played a very important role in the history of fashion footwear: women look and style of clothing has changed dramatically since then: skirts considerably got shortened, making shoes one of the most important elements of the female outfit. At the beginning of 20th century the form of shoes has not changed, they still had heel in a shape of "wine glass" and shoes with laces. Lacing used special hooks.

Shoes history 

In the 1920s the skirt has further shorten, but the shape of shoes remained almost unchanged. Depending on the occasion  women worn shoes made of leather and satin, suede and silk, or lace-up boots, hooks and buttons. This period of shoes history is characterized by membrane in almost all models of shoes.

In the mid 1930's shoes are getting more heavier and in vogue platforms and wedges. At that time world already had outstanding shoe designers which work was far ahead of their time: Salvatore Ferragamo and Steven Arpad.

Shoes History 

During the Second World War, such scarce materials like leather and metal replaced the fabric and wood. At that time is becoming very popular Wedge  shoes. It have been popular shoes with a small stable heels, often could be seen the same shape rubber "boots", worn over shoes in order to protect them from puddles and mud.

In the early 1950's in the shoes history comes the classic form of shoes with high but stable heel, but soon after that comes real transformation of the shoe fashion - the very thing stiletto heels. At the same time pinup shoes become popular. Several famous European shoemakers claim to be the inventor of the heel. Among them two Frenchmen: Roger Vivier and Raymond Massaro, and one Italian: Salvatore Ferragamo. In one version the pinup hill inventor was Roger Vivier. In 1953 for the coronation of Elizabeth of England he created an exclusive thin sandals with high heels. A Raymond Massaro has made shoes for the concert Marlene Dietrich on a high heel decorated with rhinestones. They were ordered by the actress in 1960, but according to Raymond, he came up with this model much earlier. Countess Bismarck (wife of the great-grandson of the Iron Chancellor, and a big fan of talent Massaro) had in hers arsenal thousand pairs of shoes which were authorshiped from Massaro.

In the second half of the 1960s are mini skirts come in vogue and geometric shapes skirts, as for shoes fashion trends of those times it can be identified from the others by rounded square toes and low square heel. Also high patent leather boots in different colors are become very popular.
