Tiara Magazine Interview

With Sherrie Gearheart post-interview

After our new Miss and Miss Teen International were crowned and pictures were taken, we three then went over to the hotel for interviews with Sherrie Gearheart.  I first met Sherrie the night I won Mrs. Illinois International. However, I was already aware of her many generous endeavors.  She is the creator of the Live Out Loud Charity which focuses on suicide prevention and awareness.  Sherrie also founded Tiara Magazine which celebrates us all and helps everyone love the skin they are in
.
Sherrie interviewed us for her Tiara Talk Show.  It was a chance to discuss pageant preps leading up to Mrs. International.  And it was also the perfect place to talk about upcoming platform plans.  I am not sure when those interviews will air.  However, her website has plenty to offer.  Thank you Sherrie for the chance to discuss CASA, Mrs. International and Go Red for Women!

Be the change!

Turning the Table on Sherrie Gearheart!

It was a sheer pleasure for me to host the Founder and Editor of Tiara Magazine, Ms. Sherrie Gearheart, for dinner in Chicago on Saturday evening, November 17th! This dinner was first, an opportunity to say “thank you” in person for the honor of being named the magazine’s “Most Beautiful Titleholder of the Year.” And second, it was an opportunity for me to turn the table on the interviewer…and ask her to be the interviewee!

Sherrie was absolutely up for the challenge, and here is how the interview unfolded as I asked her about herself, Tiara Magazine, and her nonprofit called “Live Out Loud Charity”:

Sarah – When did you create Tiara Magazine?

Sherrie – I created Tiara magazine in 2008. We premiered our first issue in 2009. We are currently read in print and online in 144 countries.

Sarah – Why did you create Tiara Magazine?

Sherrie – I had been a pageant coach for a little over two years and felt there wasn’t something out there that I could pick up and find affordable, relevant, and valuable as a resource. Therefore, Tiara Magazine was created. I started Tiara Magazine to showcase real beauty queens from local contestants, to the Mrs., plus size, to all divisions that encompass pageantry.

Sarah – How did “Live Out Loud Charity” become a reality?

Sherrie – When I was 19, I lost a childhood friend to suicide. I couldn’t believe that we as human beings had become so cold that those suffering from depression feel that they have no one to turn to, so I knew it was my life’s mission to save lives through suicide prevention and intervention. I started Live Out Loud Charity in 2010 and we have reached millions of individuals worldwide through our partnerships and seminars.

Sarah – What is the most important message you would like to share about the “Live Out Loud Charity” Tiara Magazine 3rd Annual Fashion Show event?

Sherrie – This event is a celebration of life and hope. In our fashion show we have women of all heights, ages, ethnicities, and sizes. We will have top designers and 65 beauty queens from all over the world coming together for Live Out Loud Charity.

Sarah – How can people reading this blog participate?

Sherrie – They can be in the show, attend the show, participate as a vendor, or go on-line to make a donation at: http://liveoutloudcharity.org/ or www.tiaramag.net/fashion-show/

Sarah – Any last comments you would like to share with our readers?

Sherrie – I encourage everyone to find a cause that they believe in so they can go forth and make a change in this world.

Thank you again to Sherrie Gearheart, for her willingness to participate in this interview, and my very best wishes to her and the Live Out Loud Charity event…may it be a stunning success!

All my love and appreciation,

Sarah Bazey

Tiara Magazine

Back in August, I shared with you a few details about the wonderful experience of sitting down with Sherrie Gearheart, Editor-in-Chief of Tiara Magazine for an interview. Sherrie recently announced the publication of that interview with a posting as it appears below.

Before you read her words, allow me to say that it is with sincere gratitude that I share this message with you, and hope those of you reading this blog understand that I am humbled and accept this honor on behalf of every burn survivor who has struggled to hide their scars.

An interview with Sarah Bazey, Mrs. International 2012, also named Tiara Magazine's Most Beautiful Titleholder of the year! Read her inspiring story. http://tiaramag.net/2012/10/sarah-bazey-mrs-international-2012/"

Tiara Magazine has nominated Sarah Bazey, Mrs. International 2012, as the Most Beautiful Titleholder of the year! Each year we choose one woman that we feel exemplifies beauty, grace, and integrity. Look for Sarah in our upcoming fall/winter issue of Tiara Magazine. I had the beautiful opportunity as founder and editor of Tiara Magazine to sit down and interview this phenomenal lady.

She is a true survivor with a strong will that defied all odds. She was once a burn victim of a terrible tragedy and she took her experience and overcame it by becoming Mrs. International 2012. More importantly, she has shared her light with others. She is a beacon of hope for those that have become burn victims and helps those suffering turn their sadness into a new found hope to live, love, and laugh. Sarah Bazey is a true story of grace, from a victim to a victor, and we are proud to introduce to you Mrs. International 2012.

Sincerely,

Sherrie Gearheart

Tiara Magazine

Immediately after I won Miss International 2012, I was escorted back to the Double Tree Hotel where I was interviewed by Tiara Magazine. Sherri Gearheart, Editor-in-Chief at Tiara Magazine asked many questions pertaining to the pageant, my platform, and my preparations leading up to my big win. The article can be found here: http://tiaramag.net/2012/10/krista-marie-wanous-miss-international-2012/

I will also be modeling in the Tiara Magazine fashion show with a few of my gorgeous beauty queen sisters in November 25th in Chicago Illinois! It will be nice to go back to the city that brings me so many fond memories. If you are interested in seeing the show in person check out TiaraMag.net to purchase tickets. The fashion show will benefit a fabulous organization, the Live Out Loud Charity.

Thank you Sherri Gearheart for the lovely interview and opportunity to be a part of the annual fashion show! I am thrilled!

My Interview with Tiara Magazine

The lovely Sherrie Gearheart is the Editor-in-Chief of Tiara Magazine, and it was a pleasure meeting her just prior to the start of the Miss Teen and Miss International Pageant Finals. She captured some photos for her publication on the grand staircase in the North Shore Center for Performing Arts, and conducted the interview in the balcony as both the crowds and excitement was building in the lobby below!

It was also a treat to meet Kim and Madi Cole, who were attending the finals with Sherrie. I am pictured here with Madi on the balcony in my new favorite Sherri Hill gown designed with the help of Joey Rutherford.

My interview with Sherrie should appear in the September issue of Tiara Magazine. So mark your calendars and check it out!

With love,

Sarah Bazey
